A photographer who doesn't just visit the farm — he grew up on it.
I grew up surrounded by farmland, animals, and the ever-changing light of Hawke's Bay. That upbringing gave me something most photographers can't learn in a classroom — a genuine understanding of how animals move, behave, and respond to their environment.
Hawkshot was born from that connection. Whether it's a mob of Merinos catching the golden hour on a hillside, a bull in full stride at a field day, or a wild deer at the edge of the bush — I know how to read the moment and be ready for it.
My work is about more than a technically correct photo. It's about capturing the soul of an animal, the story of a farm, and the beauty of this country in a single frame.
Based in Hastings, I shoot across Hawke's Bay and Gisborne — from coastal farmland to high-country stations.
We talk through exactly what you need — the animals, the setting, the mood, the final use of the images.
I visit your location beforehand when possible, reading the light, the land, and the animal behaviour patterns.
On the day, I work quietly and patiently — letting animals settle into their natural behaviour before raising the camera.
